Cutter Head Handling Tools
Handling cutter heads onboard cutter suction dredgers can be a hazardous task. With this in mind, VOSTA LMG has developed specialized cutter head handling tools to hoist, tilt, and manage cutter heads safely and with precision. These tools ensure safe lifting (hoisting), as well as controlled tilting or rotation, allowing for accurate positioning during maintenance, repair, or replacement activities.
VOSTA LMG offers three different types of cutter head handling tools: lifting and tilting tool, hoisting tool, and lifting pin.

| Lifting and tilting tool | When the cutter head is equipped with a grab ring, this tool can be used to safely lift and tilt the cutter head. For tilting, a support hook should be integrated at a suitable location on the dredger. | |
| Hoisting tool | This tool is designed for use when the cutter head is equipped with a grab ring on top of the hub. It is ideal for transporting cutter heads with the centerline (CL) in a vertical position. | |
| Lifting pin | This patented solution is designed for lifting the cutter head with its CL in either a vertical or horizontal position. With proper guidance, it can also be used to smoothly tilt the cutter head’s CL. |
