Spuds
VOSTA LMG offers standard dredging spuds specifically designed for positioning cutter suction dredgers. Each spud is engineered to provide an optimal balance of diameter, wall thickness, and weight, ensuring high performance and durability during dredging operations.
Features and Components
Pinholes for Tilting and Securing: Standard spuds are equipped with pinholes that allow for tilting and securing when not in use.
Reinforced Lower Point: The lower point of the spud is made of solid steel, providing sufficient strength to withstand ground penetration forces.
Water Drainage: Two holes above the lower point enable water to escape when the spud is hoisted, preventing water retention and ensuring easier handling.
Hoisting Eye: A hoisting eye at the top of the spud facilitates easy replacement using a crane.
Material Options: Standard spuds are constructed from Grade A steel. Alternative materials are available upon request to meet specific operational needs.
Optional Features
Dividing Piece: Spuds can be optionally equipped with a dividing piece, allowing them to be shipped in two sections for ease of transportation.
