Spud Carriers
Spud Carrier Operation
After completing a swing, the CSD or WSD is pushed forward by the spud carrier so that it can start a new swing. Once it reaches the end of its travel range, the auxiliary spud is lowered to allow the carrier to return to its starting position.
Design and Functionality
The spud carrier and pontoon are engineered with a highly rigid structure to withstand the forces exerted by the side wires during operation. The carrier is moved by a double-acting hydraulic cylinder, which is powerful enough to maintain cutting operations even while the carrier advances forward.
Integration with Dredging Equipment
The carrier pontoon can be easily attached to the aft of your dredge and can be ballasted as needed to ensure the stability of the dredger is not compromised. For added flexibility, the spud carrier installation can be equipped with its own hydraulic power pack, if required.
Custom Solutions for Demanding Conditions
VOSTA LMG also offers specially designed spud carriers tailored for offshore dredging or environments that require extra ruggedness.
