Koon Construction Fall Pipe Pontoon started operating
On the 24th of October 2016, the fallpipe pontoon for Koon Construction has started operating for a civil project in Singapore. The pontoon is designed and commissioned by VOSTA LMG and built by ASL Marine Singapore
The purpose of this fully swell compensated pontoon is construction of underwater gravel beds for all kind of applications. The gravel beds can be made in water depths ranging from 4 to 32 meters with a vertical accuracy of 5 centimeters. For horizontal positioning an 8 point mooring system is used running in constant tension mode. Together with an accurate GPS system this mooring system can follow predefined tracks with a horizontal accuracy better than 10 centimeters.
Furthermore the pontoon is equipped with a tamping tool for compaction of the installed gravel when required.
